Section 1 – Chorus Member or Voting Member/Member of the Corporation.
Chorus Member status in the Society shall be available to any person who participates in the chorus and who is current in Chorus Member annual dues. Only a Chorus Member may vote on Society business, be elected to Society Office or serve as a society Delegate to the NSAA.
Section 2 – Associate Member.
Associate Member status in the Society shall be available to any person who has an interest in the objectives and activities of the Society and who is current in. Associate Member annual dues. Although an Associate Member may not vote on Society business, Associate Members may conduct business and activities related to the activities and purposes of Associate Members. Associate Members or candidates will be provided information on Luren Auxiliary.
Section 3 – Life Member.
Life Member is an honorary distinction presented to a chorus Member or Associate Member who meets the combined criteria of sixty years of age plus 20 years of Society membership, or 30 years of Society Membership. New honorees will be .~ recognized each year. Life Member status is permanent and honorary. A Life Member who is active as a Chorus Member or Associate Member is assessed the applicable annual dues.
Section 4 – Honorary Member.
Honorary Member is an honorary distinction presented to any person or a person who, by a majority vote of Chorus Members, is recognized for contributions to the Society or Society objectives. Honorary Member status is permanent, and honorary. An Honorary Member who is active as a Chorus Member or Associate Member is assessed the applicable annual dues.
Section 5 – Dues.
Annual dues for each Chorus Member shall include a financial assessment plus participation at the Society’s Winneshiek County Fair fund raiser. The financial assessment to be determined at a September meeting, shall be payable to the Treasurer no later than October 31st. The Fund Raiser obligation is announced in April. Financial assessment is one-half for a first year member, and is waived for a High School student or full-time College student.
Annual dues for an Associate Member shall be determined at a September meeting, and shall be payable to the Treasurer no later than October 31st. Associate Member dues are monetary only. An Associate Member who wishes to be an NSAA member, or subscribe to the NSAA publication Sanger-Hilsen will be assessed the appropriate costs in addition to the annual dues.
Section 6 – Resignation
Members may resign at any time by giving notice to the Society Recording Secretary and Treasurer, or will be considered to have resigned if the annual Chorus Member or Associate Member dues are not paid or completed. Persons who have resigned, or have been removed from membership for not meeting dues requirements, forfeit all privileges of membership.
Section 7 – Reinstatement
Persons who have dropped from the rolls of the Society for not meeting dues requirements, or who have resigned, may be reinstated as Society members upon payment of appropriate fees.
